Outline

Mahindra, keeping true to its 15th August tradition, has showcased a set of four new concept SUVs — Vision S, Vision X, Vision T, and Vision SXT. The Vision T closely resembles the Mahindra Thar.e concept, and will compete with C-segment SUVs once launched. Here’s all that we know so far about the new Mahindra Vision T concept.

Mahindra Vision T design details

The Vision T concept SUV measures over 4 metres in length, and carries over lots of design cues from the Mahindra Thar electric concept that was showcased a couple of years ago. It gets high ground clearance, off-road tyres, boot-mounted spare wheel, and a C-pillar design that looks akin to that of the Mahindra Thar Roxx. There’s a rear quarter panel-mounted accessories box, along with exposed tow hooks at the front and rear, though they are unlikely to make it to production. The front gets a six-slat segmented grille design, reminiscent of the Thar Roxx.

The interior of the Vision T is starkly different from that of the Vision S, and gives off a rugged off-roady vibe. The central touchscreen unit is a large portrait one, unlike the landscape unit that we saw on the Vision S. You also get a few physical controls further down the dashboard. There’s also a digital driver’s display, a similar steering wheel design to that of the Vision S, octagonal air-con vents, and a panoramic sunroof. The T also features A and B-pillar mounted grab handles.

Mahindra NU_IQ platform

As is the case with all the concept SUVs showcased by Mahindra at the event, the Vision T is based on its new NU_IQ platform that supports ICE, electric, as well as hybrid powertrains. We do not know yet about the powertrain options that will be available on the Vision S. The platform can support front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations.

The Vision is expected to be rolled off the production lines sometime in late-2027 or early-2028. Numerous characteristics make it pretty obvious that it will join the Thar family of SUVs. Powertrain details and other specs are yet to be revealed by the manufacturer.
