Tata Altroz EV
The Tata Altroz EV is an upcoming electric hatchback based on Tata’s ALFA (Agile, Light, Flexible & Advanced) platform. It was first showcased at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and later at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is likely to launch soon with Tata’s Ziptron technology. The Altroz EV battery is likely to be a 26 kWh or 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering a range of around 306 km. The electric hatchback will support fast charging, allowing an 80% charge in under an hour.
On the design front, the Altroz EV will look a lot like its ICE sibling. However, it will feature blue accents, aerodynamic alloy wheels, and a closed grille for the signature electric car look. Inside, it will get a digital instrument cluster, connected car features, and a spacious cabin. Competing with the Citroen e-C3, the Altroz EV will become the first ever B2-segment hatchback to offer an electric option. Prices are expected to be competitive due to shared hardware with existing Tata electric cars.
Tata Altroz EV Price
The Altroz EV price in India is expected to range between ₹10-13 lakh (ex-showroom). As a more premium electric hatchback than the Tiago EV, it will offer more features, a stronger performance and a higher range. The Altroz EV expected price positions it competitively against the Citroen e-C3 and even the Punch EV. The final on-road price will vary between locations due to variables such as registration, insurance, and taxes. With Tata’s proven Ziptron technology, a 300-350 km range, and modern features, the Altroz EV could become an attractive option for EV buyers who prefer the style and comfort of a hatchback over small crossovers.
Tata Altroz EV Specifications
The 2025 Tata Altroz EV specifications highlight a premium electric hatchback with Tata’s Ziptron technology. It is expected to feature a 30.2 kWh Altroz EV battery, offering a range of 300-350 km per charge. Fast charging support will allow an 80% charge in under an hour. When it comes to the Altroz EV vs Nexon EV comparison, the former will be lighter and more efficient, making it ideal for city driving. With a spacious cabin, stylish exterior, and advanced safety features, the 2025 Altroz will become the first premium electric hatchback in India’s fast-growing EV market.
Tata Altroz EV Rivals
The Tata Altroz EV currently has no direct rivals, but it may compete with the Citroen e-C3 and Tata Punch EV due to price overlap. In fact, a simila price overlap might even result it attract some buyers away from putting their money on the Tata Tigor EV.
