2024 Mahindra Bolero Neo+
The homegrown UV-maker – Mahindra, has a vast line-up of cars on sale in the country. The Bolero nameplate is one of the oldest ownership of the brand, and it further gets the Neo+ suffix. The Bolero Neo+ is quite like the Neo, which was spawned off the TUV300. The Neo+ justifies the addition of ‘+’ to its name with extra space and seats to ferry 9 occupants in total. Thus, it turns up as a new addition to the Bolero line-up. Although, the SUV was on sale in the Indian market until April 2020 as TUV300+. Let’s understand what all is fresh and new on it now.
Seating Capacity: The 2024 Mahindra Bolero Neo+ is a 9-seater diesel SUV.
Price: The 2024 2024 Mahindra Bolero Neo+ carries a starting price of ₹11.39 lakh, ex-showroom.
2024 Mahindra Bolero Neo+ Design and Dimensions
The Mahindra Bolero Neo+ draws design cues from the Bolero Neo and the TUV300+. It does look fresher than the model it has replaced. The front fascia is identical to the Bolero Neo with a wraparound design for headlamps, a butch-looking front bumper, and a high-set bonnet. Until the C-pillar, it is quintessentially the Bolero Neo, but from there, things take a positive approach. The near-flat rear fascia appears to be more proportionate on the Bolero Neo+. The alloy wheels are not borrowed from the smaller Neo, but the older TUV300+. Some distinctions around the rear bumper could’ve freshened up the tail. Thankfully, the SUV doesn’t look half as bad as the TUV300. Talking of dimensions, the Bolero Neo+ is 405 mm longer than the sub-4m Bolero Neo.
2024 Mahindra Bolero Neo+ Engine and Gearbox
Under the hood, the 2024 Mahindra Bolero Neo+ hides a 2.2L 4-cylinder turbocharged oil burner, just like the TUV300+ did, but it is now BS6-compliant. The oil burner develops a peak power output of 118 bhp and 280 Nm of max torque. The transmission on duty is a 6-speed manual gearbox, channelling power to rear wheels, through a solid axle. Unlike the smaller Neo, the Neo+ misses out on the option of a self-locking differential. Underpinned by a ladder-frame chassis, the Bolero Neo+ is a testament to the Bolero’s rugged nature.
2024 Mahindra Bolero Neo+ Interior and Features
The cabin of the Mahindra Bolero Neo+ welcomes a familiar dashboard layout, which is also seen on the Bolero Neo. Well, it isn’t much different from the TUV300+ either. The changes are restricted to a new steering wheel and a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit if compared to the TUV300+. The SUV comes with a basic safety kit, which includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, and seatbelt reminders. Connectivity features include Bluetooth, AUX, and USB input, while there’s no provision for Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. The USP of the Bolero Neo+ is its 2+3+4 seating configuration with side-facing seats for the third row.
