Zigwheels recently spotted the upcoming Volkswagen Golf GTI parked casually at a side of the road. The India-spec Golf GTI will come with 5-spoke machined alloy wheels and red brake callipers, as revealed by the spy shot.
Volkswagen has revealed that the Golf GTI India launch will take place between April 2025 and June 2025. Expect Volkswagen dealerships to start accepting bookings anytime soon.
It features a slim grille up front adjoining the LED headlights, sportier front bumper with vertical air intakes. Around the side, it runs on 19-inch sporty alloy wheels and boasts side skirting, enhancing the side profile. Around the back, we get to see slim LED tail lights and twin round exhaust pipes.
On the inside, we get to see a driver-centric dashboard, with the centre console boasting the touchscreen tilted ever-so-slightly towards the driver for easier access and a sporty appeal. Other details include GTI steering wheel and sports seats.
The Volkswagen Golf GTI comes powered with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that puts out 265PS of power and 370Nm of torque. The power is channeled to the front wheels via a 7-speed DCT and it’s capable to sprint from standstill to 100kmph in 5.9 seconds.
Apart from the Golf GTI, Volkswagen plans to bring other new models to the Indian market as well, namely the ID.4 electric SUV, Tera compact SUV, new Tiguan R Line and facelifted versions of the Taigun and Virtus.
