The Skoda Octavia is one of the best known Skoda cars in India, which was discontinued from our market two years ago. This marked the end of entry-level D-segment sedans in India; well, almost.
The Skoda Octavia is going to make a comeback to India this year, as has been confirmed by Petr Janeba, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India, on various occasions.
What’s more interesting is that the Octavia will bring back Skoda cars in India with diesel engines a long time after all Volkswagen Group brands stopped selling diesel cars in India.
The model that will be launched in India will be the UK-spec model and will come in as a CBU. It comes powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine that puts out 150PS of maximum power and 360Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG.
The Octavia will be relaunched in India before the festive season of 2025. Skoda has plans to launch a lineup of new cars in India in the near future, including the new Skoda Superb, new Skoda Kodiaq, and the new Skoda Octavia vRS.
Skoda showcased a diesel Superb at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Auto Expo, and has plans to launch the same in the next year and a half. This will expand the brand’s portfolio of diesel cars in India.
