A surprising sighting of the upcomingninth-generation Toyota Camry, heavily camouflaged, was recently spotted on the outskirts of Pune for the first time.
The test mule is expected to showcase subtle cosmetic changes while still maintaining its familiar body proportions. It is anticipated to feature refined lines and a sleeker design. Additionally, its design cues are likely to be inspired by the Toyota Crown.
It is expected to feature a larger infotainment system, a digital cluster, three-zone automatic climate control, a wireless charger, 10-way power-adjustable driver and passenger seats, a head-up display, front seats with a suction-type ventilation system, automatic rain-sensing wipers, and more.
For safety, it’s expected to have nine airbags, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitor, TPMS, ABS, EPB with auto hold, ISOFIX, vehicle stability control, traction control, and more. It should also feature a Level 2 ADAS suite.
The outgoing Camry is equipped with a 2.5L Dynamic Force Engine featuring hybrid technology, which delivers a combined output of 120PS and 202Nm of torque. It is paired with an e-CVT gearbox. The same engine is expected to carry over into the next generation.
The current outgoing Toyota Camry is priced at Rs 46.17 lakh, while the upcoming ninth generation is expected to be priced even higher.
