Kia India has officially confirmed the launch of the new-gen Kia Carnival and will sell this new MPV as a fully import initially while the local production will commence at a later stage.
Kia will reveal the full price list of the Kia Carnival MPV on October 3, positioning it as a feature-rich and luxurious MPV for those seeking a comfortable people mover.
The fourth-gen Carnival will go on sale from October 3 and can be booked for a token amount of Rs 2 lakh.
As confirmed by Kia India, the new India-spec Carnival will be offered with features like a dual-pane sunroof, second-row electrically adjustable captain seats with ventilation function and extendable leg suport, power-sliding rear doors, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, dual curved displays and ADAS safety suite.
At the time of the launch, the new Carnival will only be offered in a single, fully-loaded variant and will be brought into the country via the CBU route. The brand however is likely to offer more variants after starting the local assembly at a later date.
Under the hood, the new Kia Carnival will continue with the same 2.2-litre diesel engine which saw duty in the previous-gen Carnival. This engine will be offered with an 8-speed DCT automatic gearbox. In the global markets, the Carnival also gets a 1.6-litre turbo petrol hybrid and a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine.
