From what we know so far, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG will be launched in India on September 12 and will be offered with a single-cylinder setup, like other Maruti CNG cars.
The new fourth-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift made its Indian debut in May 2024 and gets multiple updates over the outgoing Swift including fresh styling, new cabin and more features. The new CNG version of the hatchback too will get a similar package.
While Maruti Suzuki is likely to offer multiple Swift CNG variants in India, it remains to be seen if the Swift will get a CNG option on the top-spec variants.
Just like the petrol models, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG will get the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z12E engine in the CNG avatar. This updated motor will then be offered with multiple other Maruti cars to be launched in the coming months.
As far as pricing is concerned, the new Maruti Swift CNG will be around Rs 80,000 to Rs 90,000 more expensive than the petrol versions.
With CNG cars accounting for 34% of total car sales for Maruti Suzuki, the Indian carmaker is currently looking to sell as many as 6 lakh CNG vehicles in FY25.
