Upcoming hybrid cars in India in 2025

Among the long list of upcoming electric cars in India, there are some hybrid cars also on the roster for some of the major carmakers. Here are all the upcoming hybrid cars in India in 2025. Note that the images used in this story are for representational purpose.

2025 Toyota Camry 

Toyota’s flagship sedan in India, the Camry hybrid, is going to be launched in its ninth generation in India at the Bharat Mobility Show that is scheduled for January 2025. To be powered by the same 2.5-litre petrol hybrid powertrain, the updated Camry boasts of increased power and better fuel efficiency.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder 7-seater

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder might now be as long as its name as Toyota has reportedly been working on a 7-seater version of its popular hybrid SUV in India. On a side note, the Toyota Hyryder recently crossed the 1 lakh units sales milestone.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 7-seater

Following the prospective launch of the new Toyota Hyryder 7-seater, Maruti is also expected to launch a 7-seater version of the Grand Vitara as well. The Grand Vitara/Urban Cruiser Hyryder is the first product that Toyota and Maruti Suzuki have jointly developed for India.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx/Swift hybrid

Maruti Suzuki has been planning to launch a small hybrid car in India, and we expect that it might be either the Swift or the Fronx. The new hybrid setup is likely to feature on the new 1.2-litre Z-Series engine that does duty on the new Swift and new Dzire.

Kia Seltos hybrid

As per media reports, Kia has been developing a hybrid version of the Seltos compact SUV, and the same is expected to make its way to India too. Owing to the success of the Seltos in India and the rising popularity of hybrid cars, it makes sense for Kia to introduce the hybrid version of the Seltos here.

Mahindra hybrid SUV

A spokesperson for Mahindra has said that the automaker is ready to launch a hybrid product in India if it senses enough demand from consumers for the same. It remains an unanswered question as to what car will the hybrid powertrain debut on.
