Honda is developing an electric version of the Elevate SUV under its Asian Compact Electric (ACE) project. It has confirmed the same on multiple occasions. Head over to the next slides to read more details about the upcoming Honda Elevate electric SUV.
The Honda Elevate EV will be based on the ICE-powered Honda Elevate and not a dedicated EV platform. It will share the same platform that underpins the current generation Honda Elevate, and is also expected to share many design cues with the same, albeit a few EV-specific touches and elements.
The new Honda Elevate EV shall not be marketed under this name, and will rather be sold under a different moniker. It will be the first Honda electric car in India, and will precede the range of upcoming Honda BEVs in the country.
Honda Cars India aims for exports to make up for a major part of its sales in the upcoming months, with the electric Honda Elevate contributing heavily to it. A rising trend in exports has also been seen in the recent Honda cars monthly sales figures.
Honda India announced that it has plans to launch three new cars in India by the financial year 2026-27. The electric Elevate SUV will be one of these and the other two are expected to be SUVs as well. There’s also a strong possibility for Honda to launch some hybrid cars in India in the near future.
The upcoming electric Honda Elevate will directly go against the likes of other upcoming electric SUVs in India like the Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, and Tata Harrier EV. Other competitors include the Tata Curvv EV and the new Mahindra BE 6e.
