At the beginning of every year, in January, Mercedes-Benz India holds its press conference and launches a new product. For the year 2025, the carmaker has decided to introduce not one but two new products on January 9.
The biggest launch that has got everyone excited about is the electric G-Wagen, that Mercedes likes to call the G580 with EQ technology. The bookings for the electric G are already open, ahead of its launch on January 9.
The electric G-Wagen comes with four electric motors, which combined produce 587PS of power and 1,164Nm of torque. The motors draw power from a 116kWh battery pack that has a certified range of 473km on a single charge.
The second launch is not of a new product but a new variant of the EQS SUV, the EQS 450 5-seater. The highlight about this new variant is that it will be locally assembled here in India.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV 450 shares its 122kWh battery pack with the EQS Maybach 680, which happens to be the flagship in the range. Since the 450 is likely to have lesser power and torque, it could offer better range on a single charge compared to the 580 and Maybach 680 models.
