The 2024 Mahindra Thar Roxx launch is coming near, so gear up for Mahindra's biggest bet of 2024. Here are the top things to know before the Thar Roxx's launch in India.
Unlike the Thar 3-door, the entire Thar Roxx line-up will have a metal hard top. Mid-spec variants will have a single-pane sunroof, while higher trims will feature a panoramic setup. Other features include dual digital screens, LED lights, wireless charging, steering-mounted controls, push-button start, automatic climate control, and more.
We are also expecting the Mahindra Thar 5-door top model to be equipped with ADAS Level-2, 6 airbags, and other standard safety features that come with the 3-door Thar, such as ESP, hill hold and descent control, roll-over mitigation, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and more.
Just like the Mahindra Scorpio N, the Thar Roxx features an independent front setup with double wishbones and a multilink rear setup with Watts linkage. The Thar Roxx will also be equipped with Mahindra's frequency-dependent damping technology.
According to the sources, the Mahindra Thar Roxx SUV will have the mHawk Gen2 diesel unit. The displacement will continue to be 2.2 litres, with expected power outputs of 150hp and 350Nm for the entry-level model, and 172hp and 370Nm for the higher variant.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx petrol is likely to come up with the 2.0-litre turbo engine used in the Scorpio N and XUV700. Like the diesel variant, the Thar Roxx petrol also gets two power outputs: likely to be 160hp and 330Nm for the entry-level model, and 175hp and 380Nm for the higher variants.
Launching this Independence Day, we expect the Mahindra Thar ROXX to be priced in the range of Rs 14 Lakh to Rs 20 Lakh, positioning it close to the Mahindra Scorpio.
