Mercedes-Benz is going to launch the newest-generation of unarguably the most successful luxury sedan in India, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, in an LWB configuration just like the outgoing model.
The new E-Class will be offered in two four-cylinder turbocharged engine options – a petrol unit and a diesel unit. Both these engines come paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission and a 48V mild-hybrid system that puts out an additional 23PS of power and 205Nm of torque.
The updated E-Class features a similar silhouette as the outgoing model but gets redesigned headlights and tail lights that give more character to the car than the current one. There’s a larger front grille as well, with freshly-designed air intakes.
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB sits on 18-inch alloy wheels featuring a five-spoke design. The wheelbase of the new E-Class measures 3,094mm, which is 15mm longer than the outgoing generation.
The upcoming Mercedes E-Class gets the Superscreen setup that incorporates a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch co-driver touchscreen. There’s also a Burmester sound system, digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, adjustable rear-seat under-thigh support, 8 airbags, ADAS, and a host of other tech, convenience and safety features.
The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class launch in India is set for October 9, 2024. It is expected to be priced between Rs 80-90 lakh (ex-showroom) and will directly compete with the new BMW 5-Series LWB that was recently launched at a starting price of Rs 72.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
