The Kia EV9 is Kia’s all-electric full-size family SUV that will make its debut in India on October 3, 2024. Here are top 5 things to know before the Kia EV9 launch in India.
Based on Hyundai’s E-GMP platform, the Kia EV9 dimensions measure 5,010mm in length, 1,980mm in width, and 1,755mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 3,100mm. The GT Line is 5mm longer and 25mm taller.
The motor on the RWD variants produces 204PS and 350Nm of torque, while the motors on the AWD variants produce a combined output of 385PS and 700Nm of torque. Both these setups come paired to a 99.8kWh battery pack and get a claimed range of 501km and 454km respectively.
The Kia EV9 doesn’t resemble any other Kia car from the outside, featuring an edgy, boxy and futuristic styling. It gets weirdly (in a good sense) shaped headlights and tail lights, flushed door handles, and a four-spoke wheel design. The skateboard platform has enabled the EV9 to get short front and rear overhangs.
The upcoming Kia EV9 gets heating and ventilation function in both first and second-row seats in the global-spec model. It also gets three-zone automatic climate control, extendable centre console, a 14-speaker Meridian sound system, ambient lighting, an illuminated steering wheel, a wide infotainment screen, and a lot more. There are even controls on the key to move the car forward and backward from outside the car.
Kia is going to launch the EV9 in India on October 3, 2024 alongside the updated Kia Carnival MPV. The Kia EV9 price in India is expected to be northwards of a crore rupees.
