In September 2024, Maruti Swift led hatchback sales with 16,241 units (+10.46% YoY), followed by Baleno at 14,292 (-22.40%) and WagonR at 13,339 (-17.91%). Maruti Alto sold 8,655 units (+11.09%), while Hyundai i10 NIOS recorded 5,103 units (-2.30%).
With 16,241 units sold and a YoY growth of 10.46%, the Maruti Swift retained its popularity, leading the hatchback segment under Rs 10 lakh.
Despite 14,292 units sold, the Baleno saw a significant drop of 22.40% YoY, though it remains a strong contender in the market with its sorted package and a spacious cabin.
The WagonR secured the third spot with 13,339 units, though sales dropped by 17.91% compared to last year.
With 8,655 units sold, the Alto grew by 11.09% YoY, appealing to budget-conscious buyers with its compact design and affordability.
Selling 5,103 units in September, the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS saw a slight dip of 2.30% YoY but remained a top choice in the entry-level hatchback market.
