The list of the best selling cars in India has been dominated by Maruti Suzuki for as long as one can recall. The month of November 2024 saw no exception, with six of the top 10 best selling cars in India being Marutis. Here’s a list of the top 10 best selling cars in India in November 2024.
The Maruti Baleno made its way to being the best selling car in India in November 2024, with 16,293 units sold across the country. This marked a significant 26% growth when compared to the sales numbers from the same month last year.
It’s no surprise that the next car in line is the Hyundai Creta, with 15,452 units sold last month. The Creta has consistently been the best selling SUV in India for years now. It received a facelift earlier this year, making it an even more appealing choice for potential SUV buyers in India.
Once ruling the charts, the Tata Punch has now been pushed to the third position in the list of top selling cars in India. Tata sold 15,435 units of the Punch in November 2024, which was a negligible 17 units shorter than Creta sales in November 2024.
Another one from the house of Tata Motors, the Tata Nexon takes the rank of the fourth best selling car in India in November 2024. Selling 15,329 units, the Nexon overtook most of its direct rivals by a significant margin, including the Kia Sonet and the Hyundai Venue.
The most selling car in India when the data for the last 6 months is taken into account, the Maruti Ertiga took the fifth spot in this list. Maruti sold 15,150 units of the Ertiga last month, making it the best selling MPV in India, leaving its rivals far behind.
The Maruti Brezza wasn’t much behind the Nexon, securing the sixth spot with 14,918 units sold in November 2024. The Brezza is expected to undergo a facelift next year, with rumours about a turbo-petrol engine also being developed for the SUV, which will arrive at a much later stage though, if at all it happens.
Probably the best looking Maruti car in India at present, the Maruti Fronx also made it to the list of the most selling cars in India in November 2024. Maruti sold 14,882 units of the crossover last month. Notably, the Fronx is the only Maruti car in India that comes with a turbo-petrol engine.
The Maruti Swift, which underwent a generational update this year, ranked at the eighth position in this list, selling 14,737 units last month. The new Maruti Swift is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that makes it more efficient than the third generation Swift, in exchange for a slight loss in power and torque.
Completing 25 years of sales in India this year, the Maruti Wagon R ranked as the ninth most selling car in India in November 2024. Maruti sold 13,982 units of this tallboy last month, still going strong with the decades-old nameplate.
The Mahindra Scorpio Classic and Mahindra Scorpio N together make it to the tenth spot in this list, selling a combined 12,704 units last month. The Scorpio has been the best selling Mahindra car in India for quite a while now, while also consistently ranking amongst the best selling SUVs in India.
