The Kylaq is Skoda’s upcoming sub-compact SUV that is set to be unveiled next month. Being late to the party, the Kylaq is expected to wear an appealing price tag in order to grab a significant market share.
A test mule of the upcoming Kylaq was spotted by a Marathi automotive page. The camouflaged car looks like the base variant of the SUV, owing to certain characteristics that we have listed in the following slides.
The spied Kylaq featured a set of 16-inch steel wheels that were covered with black wheel covers. Front wheels got disc brakes while the rear ones got drums. All the body panels were well-covered with camouflage wraps and not much could be made out.
Spy shots reveal that what looks like the entry-level trim of the Kylaq would skip on an infotainment screen, though there would be a provision to get one fitted from the aftermarket. A manual handbrake, analogue instruments, and fabric seats could also be seen.
Skoda will be globally unveiling the Kylaq on November 6, 2024. The Kylaq has been specifically developed for the Indian market. Launch of the same is expected to take place earlier next year.
The Skoda Kylaq is expected to be priced starting from Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with popular cars such as the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, and Nissan Magnite.
