The Kwid is Renault’s most affordable car in India, and was only available with a petrol powertrain, until now. The French carmaker has just introduced the Renault Kwid CNG in India.
The Renault Kwid doesn’t come with the option of a factory-fitted CNG kit, but buyers can opt for a dealer-level fitment, which is approved by the manufacturer.
Despite the kits not being factory-fitted, the carmaker is offering a three-year warranty in a move to establish trust among prospective buyers.
Note that only the Renault Kwid manual variants can be opted with a CNG kit, and not the Renault Kwid AMT variants.
The Renault Kwid price in India for the CNG variants ranges from Rs 5.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) to Rs 6.74 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The CNG variants command a premium of Rs 75,000 over the petrol ones.
Renault has introduced the option of CNG kits for not just the Kwid, but for all Renault cars in India, including the Renault Triber and Renault Kiger.
