The Taycan—Porsche’s first all-electric and currently the flagship EV offering—just got a lot cheaper to access thanks to a newly launched drivetrain option.
The launch of the Taycan RWD makes the electric sedan cheaper by Rs 24 lakh. Launched at Rs 1.67 crore, the RWD is cheaper by Rs 87 lakh compared to the top-spec Taycan Turbo.
The Porsche Taycan is not available in the full-blown Turbo S and Turbo GT forms, which offer a lot more performance than the ones sold in India. Porsche is also yet to launch the Taycan Grand Turismo in the Indian market.
As the name suggests, the Taycan RWD comes with a single rear-mounted electric motor that puts out 408PS of power and 410Nm of torque.
Coming to the acceleration, the Taycan RWD goes from standstill to 100kmph in 4.8 seconds and can touch a top speed of 230kmph. On a single charge, it claims a certified range of 590km.
