The Camry has been Toyota’s flagship sedan in the country and has been here for decades now, establishing a stronghold in the luxury saloon market. Globally, the Camry has entered its ninth generation and the same is making its way here very soon.
The new Camry retains the 2.5-litre petrol hybrid powertrain that also does duty on the outgoing model. It has been further developed to produce more power and be more efficient at the same time. Win-win!
The Camry continues to be a beautiful car, with sleeker headlamps and a sharper nose. The new model looks more eager than before at the same time not overdoing it. It does not get connected tail lamps, and that’s a relief. All-in-all, it’s a likeable design.
Some of the features that the new Camry gets include a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver’s display, 9-speaker JBL audio system, wireless smartphone connectivity, an ADAS suite, and a generously-loaded safety package. Rear seat comfort is a highlight in the Camry with recline and ventilation functions.
The updated Toyota Camry will be showcased here on December 11, 2024. Official launch shall take place at the Bharat Mobility Show 2025 that is scheduled for January 17-22.
The Camry does not have many rivals in India and occupies a sweet spot in the luxury sedan market. The only direct rivals include the Skoda Superb and Lexus ES 300h, both of which are priced significantly higher. The next-gen Superb is also coming to India in 2025, and might be assembled here too, thereby reducing its price.
