The Tata Harrier EV is one of the most anticipated upcoming electric cars in India. It was first showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo 2023, and subsequently at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024. Tata Motors has finally declared the Tata Harrier EV launch timeline.
Tata Motors has said that it will launch the new Harrier EV by the end of the financial year 2024-25, which translates to the car coming our way latest by March next year. This was announced at one of the financial meetings of the company.
Tata Motors hasn’t disclosed any specifications of the upcoming Tata Harrier EV as of now, but numerous spy shots on the internet suggest that the SUV would come in two configurations — 2WD and AWD. The claimed range is expected to be somewhere around 500 kilometres.
The Harrier EV could share a lot of components with its ICE counterpart, just like we saw in the case of the Tata Curvv and other electric Tata cars in India. It is expected to get a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, a branded sound system, two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, panoramic sunroof, Level-2 ADAS suite, ventilated seats, and more.
Expect the upcoming Tata Harrier EV to be priced onwards of Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete with cars such as the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, and the new Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
Tata Motors is, at present, the largest player in the four-wheeler EV industry in India. It has five models on sale — Punch EV, Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Nexon EV, and the new Curvv EV. The Harrier EV and Sierra EV will join this lineup in 2025.
