Skoda had an extensive lineup of cars displayed at its pavilion at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the highlight of which was the fourth-generation Skoda Superb sedan.
The model showcased at the Expo was equipped with a 2.0-litre diesel engine, and came with a 4X4 drivetrain; something which has happened after around five years.
Skoda said that it plans to reintroduce diesel cars in India, estimating that there is still demand for diesel cars in the country with brands such as Mahindra and Hyundai selling considerable numbers. Other brands from the Volkswagen Group might follow suit.
The new Superb will be launched in India in the next 18 months, as confirmed by the carmaker. It might be launched with both petrol and diesel powertrains.
Following the brand’s Modern Solid design language, the new Superb gets smoother surfaces and a softer rear end, though the front looks sharper than before.
The Superb showcased at the Expo was the L&K trim that got plush leather interiors. Key Skoda Superb features include rotary dials for climate control, a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted gear selector, and more.
