Skoda Kylaq marks the Czech carmaker’s foray into the competitive sub-compact SUV segment in India, crowded by cars such as the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and Mahindra XUV 3XO, to name a few. The Kylaq aims to stand out of the crowd, and by appealing methods, its low starting price being one.
Not to forget that the higher-spec trims such as the Signature + and Prestige boast of some sought-after features that can help Skoda’s cause in attracting buyers. Let’s take a look at some of the new Skoda Kylaq top features.
The top-spec variant of the Skoda Kylaq gets 6-way electrically-adjustable front seats, which adds to the convenience factor and helps the driver get into his/her desired driving position to a great extent (that telescopic adjustment would have helped complete the puzzle).
The front seats on the top-spec trim aren’t just powered, but ventilated too. This feature can prove to be a boon if you’re living in hot and humid areas (hey there, fellow Delhiites!).
A safety feature that I personally am a strong proponent of — auto-dimming IRVM — also finds a place inside the Kylaq’s cabin. This is extremely useful, especially when you’re driving alongside idiots that use high beams on well-lit city roads for reasons only they seem to understand.
You can’t really do the numbers without a sunroof today, can you? Skoda had to put this on the Kylaq to enhance its appeal. While it’s good for getting some sunlight inside the cabin and making it feel more spacious, it’s not meant to stick your head out of it on public roads.
While most of the other cars in the segment that the Kylaq belongs to sit on 15-inch or 16-inch wheels, with the Mahindra XUV 3XO being an exception, the Kylaq gets the option of 17-inch alloy wheels. And they look rather good, too!
You can always have a bit of fun while enjoying the convenience of an automatic if you have paddle shifters in your car. Moreover, the peppy 1.0-litre TSI motor coupled with the tiny dimensions of the car should keep the enthusiast in you happy.
TPMS or Tyre Pressure Monitoring System is another safety feature that comes handy at multiple occasions, making sure that you’re in check of your car’s tyre pressures.
