The Kylaq is Skoda’s newest product for India that marks the carmaker’s foray into the highly competitive sub-compact SUV segment in India.
Bharat NCAP has released a crash test report for the Kylaq SUV, and it has fared well, scoring 5 out of 5 stars for both adult and child occupant protection.
The Skoda Kylaq scored 30.88 points out of a maximum of 32 points for adult occupant protection. The test dummies showed adequate to good protection.
The Kylaq scored 45 points out of a maximum of 49 points for child occupant protection. A detailed report released by Bharat NCAP can be accessed from the organisation’s website.
The Kylaq gets plenty of safety features such as 6 airbags, ESC, brake disc wiping, electronic differential lock, and more. Higher-spec variants get additional features like TPMS and hill-hold control.
Crash test ratings aren’t the sole indicators that reflect how safe would the occupants be in the event of a crash. Other factors that should be considered in order to determine how safe a car is are driver comfort, assistance systems, and more. The occupants have to adhere to the safety norms such as using seatbelts on all the seats, and using child seats in order to let the safety features protect them in case of a mishap.
