Mercedes-Benz has launched the E-Class in its sixth generation in India in the LWB guise as before. Mercedes claims it to be more comfortable and desirable than before, as if it wasn’t enough to start with.
The new E-Class has the same unmistakable E-Class silhouette but gets better-looking front and rear lights along with redesigned bumpers and a new front grille. It sits on new 18-inch alloy wheels too. There are more subtle character lines as well as door handles that flush into the door panels.
The new Mercedes-Benz gets three engine options including an inline-six petrol engine. Given above is a table with the engine specifications for an easier presentation. All the three engine options come paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission and a 48-Volt mild-hybrid system that provides an additional power and torque boost of 23PS and 205Nm respectively.
The dashboard of the new E-Class features Mercedes’ Superscreen layout that houses a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch co-driver touchscreen. There’s also a digital driver’s display, powered front and rear seats, 8 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, and many more comfort, tech and safety features on the E-Class LWB.
The E-Class is known for its rear-seat space and comfort, and the sixth generation one-ups its predecessor in that aspect too. It boasts of a 15mm longer wheelbase than the outgoing model.
