Maruti Suzuki launched a new generation of the Swift earlier this year. How does it go against the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, which got a facelift back in 2023? Find out in the following slides.
The Swift has traded a four-pot unit for a three-pot one, leading to a slight reduction in power and torque figures. The i10 Nios gets a four-cylinder petrol unit that makes similar power. Both these cars get the option of a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT, and are available with factory-fitted CNG kits.
The fourth generation Swift has an energetic vibe to it owing to its styling. It has a pronounced shoulder line and a rather wide shut line for the bonet. The Grand i10 Nios gets the typical tallboy profile and is flanked by curvy headlamps and a front grille that gives it a modern touch. The table above lists the dimensions of both these hatchbacks.
The Grand i10 feels more spacious on the inside due to the light-coloured theme used, whereas the Swift gets all-black elements and seats. The dashboard layout of the Swift looks more modern while that of the Grand i10 Nios looks a bit aged, but it does feel premium like other Hyundai cars.
The new Maruti Suzuki Swift price in India ranges from Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.59 lakh. The 2024 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios price lies between Rs 5.92 lakh and goes up till Rs 8.56 lakh. Prices for the CNG variants start at Rs 8.19 lakh for the Maruti Suzuki, and Rs 7.68 lakh for the Hyundai. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
