With the arrival of the third generation Maruti Swift, all other sedans in the sub-compact segment have started looking dated. The Hyundai Aura is no exception, and while it doesn’t look as old-fashioned as the Amaze, the Dzire certainly one-ups Hyundai’s contender too.
The Dzire is powered by a 1.2-litre three cylinder petrol engine that produces 82PS of maximum power and 111.7Nm of peak torque. The Aura gets a 1.2-litre four cylinder petrol engine that puts out 83PS of max power and 113.8Nm of peak torque. The output figures are almost identical. Both the cars get the option of a factory-fitted CNG kit.
Both the sedans measure the same in length and have the exact same wheelbase. The Dzire is 55mm wider and 5mm taller than the Aura. Ground clearance is comparable at 165mm for the Aura and 163mm for the new Dzire.
The new Dzire looks upmarket with Audi-like headlamps, rear lamps, and a large front grille. The overall exterior design looks sophisticated and quite appealing. The Aura looks sportier with curves and a rear spoiler. Honestly, the styling of the Aura isn’t inferior either, it’s rather different and comes together well.
The 2024 Maruti Dzire gets stuff such as a sunroof and a 360-degree camera setup that the Aura misses on. In the Aura’s defense, it gets a cooled glovebox. Keeping these aside, both cars are loaded with features especially for the segment that they belong to.
The Hyundai Aura price in India ranges between Rs 6.48 lakh and Rs 9.04 lakh. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire price in India ranges from Rs 6.79 lakh to Rs 10.14 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
