The Maruti Baleno is one of the most successful Maruti Suzuki cars in India and is likely to get a new CNG variant. As reported by Carwale, this new variant is likely to be called the Baleno Alpha CNG and will be positioned as the range-topping Baleno CNG model in India.
At the moment, only two variants, Delta and Zeta, of the Maruti Baleno CNG are on sale in India. The new Alpha CNG model will be positioned above these two variants.
This new upcoming Baleno CNG top model is likely to get features like UV-cut glass, diamond-cut alloy wheels, HUD, cruise control, auto-dimming IRVM, auto-folding ORVMs, leather-wrapped steering wheel, nine-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system, and a 360-degree camera over the Zeta variant.
Powering this new variant will be the same 1.2-litre K12C engine which delivers 76bhp and 98Nm of maximum torque in CNG mode. The same engine in petrol mode delivers 88bhp and 113Nm of torque. The CNG iteration only gets a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Just like the other CNG models, the new Alpha CNG model is expected to be around Rs 90,000 more expensive than the standard petrol model but an official confirmation is awaited at the moment.
