The Vision S is one of the four new Mahindra concept SUVs revealed at this year’s Independence Day, and here are five things to know about it.
The Vision S is based on Mahindra’s new NU_IQ platform that supports ICE, electric, and hybrid powertrains, with capability of accommodating both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations.
With an exterior that’s very similar to that of the Defender, the Vision S features high ground clearance, side steps, a heavy dosage of body cladding, 19-inch wheels with red brake callipers, boot-mounted spare wheel, jerry can and step ladder on rear quarter panels, and cameras in place of ORVMs.
The cabin of the Vision S features a new steering wheel, hexagonal AC vents, two landscape-oriented screens, physical switches, dual-tone upholstery for the seats, A and B-pillar mounted grab handles, and a panoramic sunroof.
It is expected that the new Vision S will be a new member of the Scorpio family, though Mahindra is yet to confirm the same. It will be a sub-4 metre car, reaping tax benefits, enabling Mahindra to price it aggressively, shall it choose to do the same.
The Vision S is expected to be the first one to be launched of the four new concepts, with a launch expected in 2027. The exact Mahindra Vision S launch date is yet to be revealed.
