Mahindra launched the 5-door Thar or the Thar Roxx in August this year, featuring a ton of changes over the regular Mahindra Thar. The Roxx became an instant bestseller, gathering over 1.7 lakh bookings in the first hour of commencement of bookings.
Bharat NCAP has released the crash test report of the 2024 Mahindra Thar Roxx, and the SUV has secured a five-star safety rating, just like many other Mahindra cars in India.
The Mahindra Thar Rox scored 31.09 points out of a maximum of 32 points for Adult Occupant Protection. The test dummies showed adequate to good protection.
The Roxx scored 45 points out of a maximum of 49 points for Child Occupant Protection. A detailed report released by Bharat NCAP can be accessed from the organisation’s website.
The Mahindra Roxx comes equipped with a lot of safety features such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill-hold control, hill-descent control, roll-over mitigation, Level-2 ADAS, brake disc wiping, and more.
Crash test ratings aren’t the sole indicators that reflect how safe would the occupants be in the event of a crash. Other factors that should be considered in order to determine how safe a car is are driver comfort, driver assistance systems, structural integrity of the vehicle and more. The occupants have to adhere to the safety norms such as using seatbelts on all the seats, whether at the front or rear, as well as using child seats for any children travelling in the vehicle, in order to let the safety features protect them in case of a mishap.
