Land Rover has just introduced the Land Rover Defender OCTA, a special edition of the brand’s crowd-favourite Defender 110 SUV. The Defender OCTA isn’t just a cosmetic edition, but it packs a lot of mechanical advancements over the regular Defender.
Being the most powerful Defender ever, the Defender OCTA features a 4.4-litre twin-turbo mild hybrid V8 engine, producing a massive 626bhp of power and 750Nm of torque. 0-100 kmph takes 4.0 seconds!
Defender OCTA is the most durable Defender to be produced. It is 28mm higher than the regular Defender and has a 68mm wider stance. It gets longer and tougher wishbones and unique active dampers with separate accumulators.
The Defender OCTA has a water wading capacity of up to one metre, enabling easier and more confident manoeuvring through water. The OCTA also gets improved approach and departure angles due to redesigned bumpers.
The Defender OCTA also gets a dedicated Defender off-road driving mode with a performance focus, which is unique to the Defender OCTA and is thus named OCTA mode. OCTA mode also engages further modes and calibration for optimum acceleration and braking on loose surfaces.

The Defender OCTA will make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which is taking place from the 11th of July and will continue till the 14th of July. The Land Rover Defender OCTA price is likely to start from around Rs 2.65 crores (ex-showroom, Delhi).
