Kia India has been working on an electric version of its Carens MPV, and the same has been spied testing a few times on Indian roads under camouflage.
As per Autocar India, the Kia Carens EV India launch will take place in June 2025, following the Kia Carens facelift India launch that will take place in April 2025.
While the carmaker hasn’t disclosed any specs of the upcoming Carens EV, we expect it to be powered by the same motor as the Hyundai Creta Electric. The Creta EV comes with an electric motor that produces 135PS of power with a 42kWh battery pack, and 171PS with a 51.4kWh battery pack.
The Carens EV is based on the regular Carens MPV and thus, carries most of its styling cues from the ICE car. It is expected to get a new set of headlamps, tail lights, front grille, and alloy wheels, as suggested by spy images.
The Kia Carens EV price in India is expected to start above Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom). It will go against other electric cars in India such as the BYD eMax 7.
Kia has a few new cars planned to be introduced in India such as the Kia Carens facelift, Kia Carens EV, Kia EV6 facelift, and Kia Syros EV.
