Hyundai has taken the wraps off the second generation Hyundai Nexo hydrogen-powered SUV, and it looks nothing like the first generation model.
The updated Nexo gets most of its styling cues from the Hyundai Initium concept car that was revealed last year. It features Hyundai’s ‘Art of Steel’ design language.
The new Nexon measures larger than its predecessor, sitting at 4,750mm in length, 1,865mm in width, and 1,640mm (without roof rails). Wheelbase remains unchanged at 2,790mm.
The cabin features lots of screens — a main twin-screen setup for infotainment and instrumentation, and a couple of screens that replace conventional ORVMs. Other Hyundai Nexo features include a 14-speaker B&O sound system, V2L capability, 9 airbags, an ADAS suite, and more.
Hyundai targets a range of over 700 kilometres with the new Nexo. It comes equipped with a 2.6kWh battery pack, a front-mounted motor puts out 204PS of power and 350Nm of torque, and a 128PS fuel-cell system.
The Hyundai Nexo will be launched in certain international markets this year. The Hyundai Nexo India launch is still distant due to the lack of hydrogen filling stations in India.
