BMW has launched its all-new electric car in India — the BMW iX1 — in its long wheelbase version. The electric SUV was introduced at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
The new BMW iX1 LWB price in India has been announced as Rs 49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which makes it the most affordable electric BMW car currently on sale in India.
BMW is offering a single trim for the iX1 — eDrive20L M Sport Long Wheelbase. Bookings for the car are already live, and deliveries have also started.
A key reason for this pricing is the fact that BMW is making the iX1 LWB at its Chennai plant in India rather than importing it as a CBU. It is also the carmaker’s first made-in-India EV.
The iX1 gets a claimed power output of 207PS and 250Nm of torque. Triple digit speeds appear in 8.6 seconds. The claimed BMW iX1 range stands at 531 kilometres (as per MIDC). The SUV has a wheelbase measuring 2,800mm.
Some key BMW iX1 LWB features include a large panoramic sunroof, curved setup for the screens, 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, reclining rear seats, sport seats, ADAS and more. The car sits on 18-inch alloy wheels.
