The MGS5 EV has started teasing in the UK market, signaling that its launch is close. With this new model, it will replace the MG ZS EV in the lineup.
It’s expected that the MGS5 EV might also launch in the Indian market. Since the MG ZS EV is already part of the lineup, the new EV could replace it here as well.
The MGS5 EV will be built on the modular scalable platform (MSP), which was also used in the MG4 hatchback for the European market.
In the teaser, the MGS5 EV shows a connected LED taillight at the rear, reflectors at the lower section, wiper and a spoiler. The charging socket is placed on the left side, towards the rear. It also gets a new set of alloy wheels, pull-out doors, and roof rails.
Currently, the MG ZS EV comes with a 50.3kWh battery pack, while in the UK, this EV is also available with a larger 72.6kWh battery pack. Meanwhile, the upcoming MGS5 EV is expected to feature a 55kWh battery pack.
The MGS5 is set to launch in the UK this year, likely in the coming months. As for the Indian market, while the launch isn't confirmed, if it does happen, it's expected to be sometime next year or a bit later.
