At the launch of the Windsor EV, MG launched a lucrative offer of unlimited free public charging for one year for those who purchase the EV before December 2024.
However, the updated terms and conditions now reveal that the offer is now limited to 1000kWh (1000 units) or 1 year of purchase, whichever comes first.
Once either the tenure or charge units are crossed, MG’s eHub app will charge the cost from the customer, unlike before when it was borne by the carmaker.
Taking the free 1000 units into account, MG will only offer free charging for the initial 7,300km driven, taking into account the claimed realistic range and battery capacity of the Windsor EV.
There are mainly two benefits to sticking with home charging. First point is affordability since electricity cost is cheaper and second is the reliability of the battery, which degrades if the DC charger is used in the majority of charge cycles.
It is worth noting that this offer was only applicable to those who purchased the Windsor EV before January 1, 2025. Units sold after January 2025 do not benefit from this offer.
