The MG Windsor EV is the brand’s third electric car in India and is slotted between the MG Comet EV and MG ZS EV. The Windsor debuts with itself MG’s unique pricing model wherein you pay for the car separately and get the battery on lease from JSW MG Motor India.
Under this Battery as a Service model, the ex-showroom price of the MG Windsor EV starts at Rs 9.99 lakh and you have to pay either Rs 3.5 per kilometre or Rs 5.8 per kilometre, depending upon the financing partner that you opt for.
MG has today revealed the total upfront cost of the Windsor EV, if you choose to buy it as a whole unit rather than paying separately for the battery. The ex-showroom price of the new Windsor EV starts at Rs 13.49 lakh for the base Excite variant.
The Exclusive variant costs Rs 14.49 lakh and the top-spec Essence variant is priced at Rs 15.49 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. There’s a difference of one lakh rupees between consecutive variants.
Official bookings for the new MG Windsor EV will commence on October 3, 2024. The MG Windsor EV deliveries are set to begin from October 12, 2024. Stay tuned for our review of the Windsor that’ll be going live on our YouTube channel this Monday.
There is a difference of Rs 3.5 lakh for the base variant if we compare the total upfront cost and the price of the Windsor under the BaaS scheme. The actual difference shall however depend on various factors including terms and conditions of the financing partners, cost per kilometre, ownership tenure plan, monthly running and the rate of interest. We’ll come out with a detailed comparison once MG discloses all these details in their entirety.
