MG Motor just dropped an exciting teaser on social media featuring a snowstorm scene, where the white fog reveals the shape of LED DRLs. This design closely resembles that of the Hector model, hinting that a special Snowstorm edition might be on its way. It’s expected to launch by the end of this month.
The MG Gloster is already available in the stylish Snowstorm Edition, and now the upcoming MG Hector is set to follow suit with this eye-catching look. It is expected to come in both 5-seater & 7-seater configurations. It will likely showcase a sleek white pearl exterior, accented with red inserts at the front, along with red callipers and ORVMs, adding a sporty touch.
This edition will likely be based on the top variant, featuring an all-black interior. Expect a 14-inch HD infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch multi-information display, 8 speakers, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, front ventilated seats, an intelligent turn indicator, a PM 2.5 air purifier, a wireless charger, and more.
For safety features, it’s expected to include 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, all-disc brakes, traction control, electronic stability program, and more. It will also offer Level 2 ADAS features, such as cruise control, lane assist, traffic jam assist, and more.
Under the hood of the Snowstorm Edition, customers can choose between a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 143ps and 250nm of torque, and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine generating 170ps and 350nm of torque. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual transmission, while the diesel also offers a CVT gearbox.
The outgoing MG Hector is priced between Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 22.17 lakh. The upcoming Snowstorm edition is expected to be a bit more expensive, with a price increase of several thousand rupees. It will continue to compete with models like the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Harrier, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV700, among others.
