Announced at the press conference for the launch of the new electric Mercedes EQA and updated EQB SUV, Mercedes-Benz India also opened bookings for the electric G-Wagon, the Mercedes G 580 with EQ Technology.

Mercedes G 580 with EQ Technology: Design

The electric G-Wagon follows the classic design language of the iconic Mercedes G-Class. It features a boxy body structure that sits on a ladder-on-frame chassis. The G 580 gets 18-inch wheels as standard.

The Mercedes G 580 with EQ Technology gets four electric motors, one for each wheel, which produce a combined output of 587PS and 1,164Nm of torque.

Electric G-Wagen Range And Battery

The e-Geländewagen is equipped with a massive 116kWh battery pack. The WLTP range of the electric Mercedes G 580 is 473 kilometres.

Off-Roading Capabilities

The G 580 with EQ Technology is a true G-Wagon nonetheless. It gets an independent front suspension and a rigid axle at the rear, a water wading depth of 850mm, a Low Range off-road gearing mode and a G-Steering function.

The electric G-Wagen gets an interior similar to the one featured on the ICE G-Wagens. It gets square-edged air vents and a passenger grab handle bearing the typical G-Class signature.
