Maruti Suzuki has sold 10,00,000 units of the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, since the launch of its latest version. Maruti has achieved this milestone in just 5.5 years.
Maruti has sold 99,668 units of the WagonR in the first six months of 2024 alone. Last month, it was Maruti’s third best-selling car behind the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Ertiga, selling 13,790 units.
Maruti Suzuki is also celebrating 25 years of the WagonR in India. Since its launch in 1999, Maruti has sold a mind-boggling 30 Lakh units of the WagonR to Indian customers.
The Maruti Suzuki WagonR gets two engine options — a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol unit and a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol unit. The 1.0-litre engine is also available with the option of a factory-fitted CNG kit.
The manual variants of the 1.0-litre and the 1.2-litre WagonR get a claimed mileage of 24.35km/l and 23.56km/l respectively, while the automatic variants of both these engines get a claimed mileage of 25.19km/l and 24.43km/l respectively. The CNG variants have a claimed mileage of 33.47km/kg.
The Maruti Suzuki WagonR is offered in 11 variants, which include petrol-manual variants, petrol-automatic variants and CNG-manual variants.
Being in a popular segment, the WagonR has many rivals. Some of the WagonR rivals are Tata Punch, Tata Tiago, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Renault Kwid, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Alto K10, Hyundai Exter and Citroen C3.
The Maruti WagonR is priced attractively between Rs 5.55 Lakh for the base model and Rs 7.20 Lakh for the top model. Both these prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
