Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 1,81,782 vehicles in August 2024, which included both domestic sales as well as exports. This figure also takes into account the sale of LCVs and sales to other OEMs (Toyota Kirloskar in this case).
Year-on-year sales fell by 3.9% due to a fall in domestic sales. The exports rose by 5.6% but a significant fall in domestic sales resulted in a cumulative negative growth for the carmaker.
Month-on-month sales increased for MSIL, both in case of domestic sales as well as exports. Cumulative month-on-month growth stood at 3.9%.
MSIL sold 1,43,074 cars in August 2024 the Indian market, which translates to an 8.4% decline as compared to 1,56,114 units sold in the same month last year.
Only the SUV segment saw an increase of roughly 4,000 units while the rest of the segments took a hit, including hatchbacks, sedans, as well as vans. Model-wise sales figures are yet to be released.
