Maruti Suzuki offers a wide variety of powertrain options for the Grand Vitara, catering to varied customer needs. There’s Suzuki’s 1.5-litre petrol engine and Toyota’s 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid engine on offer. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed AT, and an e-CVT. There’s a factory-fitted CNG option too.
The Grand Vitara strong hybrid variants have been well received by customers. Maruti Suzuki claims an impressive mileage of 27.97kpl for its strong hybrid variants, making it a greener choice, both for the pocket as well as the environment.
The SUV comes equipped with features such as a 9-inch Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system, a 360-degree camera, drive mode selector, head-up display, ventilated seats, and a panoramic sunroof. Safety is a paramount concern, with the Grand Vitara offering 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill hold assist, hill descent control, TPMS, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and more.
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has been jointly developed by Toyota and Suzuki under their global alliance. Suzuki’s Global-C platform underpins the Grand Vitara, as well as the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The mild-hybrid engine is sourced from Suzuki, while Toyota provides the strong-hybrid engine for these cars.
The mild-hybrid variants of the Grand Vitara are priced between Rs 10.99 Lakh and Rs 16.91 Lakh, while the strong-hybrid variants are priced from Rs 17.01 Lakh to Rs 19.93 Lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. The Maruti Grand Vitara goes against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and its own sibling, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
