Due for a generation update soon, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire is currently one of the most popular compact sedans in India and here is a detailed breakdown of its claimed vs. real-life mileage for each powertrain.
The Dzire’s petrol and CNG variants come with claimed mileage figures of up to 22.61kmpl (petrol) and up to 31.12km/kg (CNG). Real-world driving conditions, however, reveal slightly lower efficiency.
The 1.2-litre petrol engine with a 5-speed manual transmission is claimed to deliver 22.41kmpl. In real-world conditions, this variant typically provides around 19kmpl as per the owners report.
For the AMT automatic petrol version, Maruti claims a mileage of 22.61kmpl. In actual driving experience, users report a fuel efficiency of approximately 19.2kmpl.
The CNG variant has an impressive claimed fuel efficiency of 31.12km/kg. In real-life scenarios, it achieves around 29.5km/kg, which is still highly economical.
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire offers a 1.2-litre petrol engine that generates 89.7PS and 113 Nm of torque in addition to a 1.2-litre CNG engine that produces 77.5PS and 98.5Nm of maximum torque. While the petrol is offered with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT unit, the CNG is offered only with a manual gearbox.
