The Fronx has been consistently ranking among the top 10 highest selling cars in India for quite a while now. It is based on the Maruti Baleno, which also does handsome numbers every month.
In the month of February 2025, the Fronx soared ahead of other popular cars in India such as the Maruti Ertiga and Hyundai Creta, to become the most selling car in India.
MSIL sold 21,461 units of the Fronx in February 2025. It was followed by the Maruti Wagon R with 19,879 units, and the Hyundai Creta with 16,317 units.
The Fronx is currently the only Maruti car in India that is available with a turbocharged petrol engine. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx engine options include a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that comes with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT, and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that comes with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor.
Maruti is reportedly planning a hybrid version of the Fronx, which has been spotted testing a few times in India. It is expected to launch sometime in 2026.
