The Eeco is Maruti Suzuki’s multi-purpose van that quite literally serves multiple purposes, from being an ambulance to a school van for children.
First launched back in 2010, Maruti Suzuki is celebrating 15 years of sales of the Eeco this year, marking another milestone after the Maruti Wagon R’s silver jubilee.
Over these 15 years of sales, Maruti has been able to sell over 12.5 lakh units of this MPV across the country, making it a resounding success. Even now, it sells over 10,000 units of the Eeco every month.
A key reason for this success, apart from the stellar pricing, is the lack of competition in the market. There is practically no other van in the market within the similar price bracket.
The Eeco isn’t just the best selling van in India, but it also ranks among the top 3 best selling 7 seater cars, sitting just behind the Maruti Ertiga and the Mahindra Scorpio duo.
Speaking of Maruti cars in India, the cars to be showcased at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo include the brand’s first-ever electric car — Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, and special editions of some of its existing cars in India.
