The Mahindra Thar is a compact four-wheel drive off-roading SUV manufactured by Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Its iconic design, powerful engine options and off-road capabilities make it a great choice for anyone looking for a rugged 4X4 SUV in India.
After four years of successful sales, it makes sense to expect a facelift of the Mahindra Thar soon. Although there may not be any major mechanical changes, the facelift iteration is expected to boast a number of cosmetic updates.
The upcoming facelift could incorporate fresh alloy wheel designs, LED headlamps, redesigned tail lights and a new six-slot front grille featuring a double-stacked layout, potentially with an optional body-colour finish.
The Mahindra Thar facelift is expected to get a more modern-looking interior with an updated centre console, a redesigned steering wheel with a new digital cluster, automatic climate control, a wireless smartphone charger, and a rear parking camera.
From what we know so far, the new Thar facelift is expected to share many new Thar Roxx features including a new touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument console, new LED headlights, and more.
Launching on August 15, 2024, which also happens to be India's 77th Independence Day, we expect the Mahindra Thar ROXX to be priced in the range of Rs 14 Lakh to Rs 20 Lakh, positioning it close to the Mahindra Scorpio.
