Mahindra Auto has developed a new electric modular platform to underpin its range of upcoming EVs in India. It claims its new platform, the INGLO, to be one of the lightest skateboard platforms in the whole of the EV industry.
Mahindra has partnered with the Volkswagen Group in order to levy their expertise and share components with the VW Group’s MEB platform. A range of electric cars sit on the MEB platform such as the Skoda Enyaq, VW ID.4, and Audi Q4 e-tron.
Mahindra shall offer two battery options on cars underpinned by the new INGLO platform — 59kWh and 69kWh. Mahindra claims a 20%-80% charging time of just about 20 minutes via a 175kW DC charger.
The rear-wheel drive SUVs shall have a power output ranging between 231PS to 286PS, while those with an all-wheel drive setup shall have a higher output due to the addition of a front-axle mounted motor.
The first set of electric SUVs to be underpinned by the new INGLO electric modular skateboard platform will be the Mahindra XEV 9e and the Mahindra BE 6e, the designs of which were recently revealed by the brand ahead of their global debut.
Mahindra has scheduled the global unveiling of the XEV 9e and BE 6e for November 26, 2024. The same shall take place at Chennai, India. Stay tuned to CARS24 Autoverse for latest updates about these upcoming electric cars.
