Maruti Suzuki India Limited begins exporting the made-in-India Jimny 5-door, alongside other models like the Fronx and Jimny 3-door.
In the Japanese market, the Jimny 5-door is officially called the Jimny Nomade. Nomade means Nomad in Japanese and is regarded to a person who roams places without a fixed home.
While the interior design and features of the Jimny Nomade is same as the India-spec Jimny 5-door, it offers a smaller infotainment system whereas the India-spec model gets a 9.0-inch unit.
One really thoughtful addition to the Jimny Nomade is a underside mirror on the left-side ORVM, which gives a view of the vehicle’s surroundings, thereby helping in off-road situations.
Unlike the India-spec Jimny, the Jimny Nomade offers heated driver and passenger seats, suiting Japanese driving conditions.
The Jimny Nomade shares the same engine option with the India-spec model, which is a 1.5-litre petrol engine that comes mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic.
