Kia India, a subsidiary of a South Korean automaker, entered the Indian market in 2019 and established itself as a key player. It offers a blend of stylish, feature-loaded vehicles like Seltos, Sonet, EV6, and Carens catering to a diverse set of needs of Indian consumers.
Kia India is one of the few carmakers in India that registered growth figures in July 2024 sales. A total of 20,507 units were sold in July 2024.
As per Vahan, Kia India recorded a growth of 15% more than the industry average in monthly sales.
Kia Carens is the only car that saw an increase in the number of sales as Kia India sold 5,154 units in June 2024 and 5,679 units in July 2024. Seltos and Sonet both saw a fall in the number of units sold in July 2024 with around 1316 fewer units sold as compared to June 2024.
In the domestic market, Kia India sold 20,507 units in July 2024 with a 2.5% YoY increase from 20,002 units sold in July 2023. The sales numbers include 9,459 units of Kia Sonet, 5,679 units of Kia Seltos and 5,347 units of Kia Carens.
Kia Seltos was the most exported car of Kia India with 932 units followed by Kia Carens with 833 units and Sonet with 740 units. Ultimately, Kia India exported a total of 2500 units in July 2024.
Kia India is planning to launch the Carens facelift with a new design, putting the MPV in line with the new Kia models. Kia India is also considering bringing two new models into the Indian market — a small SUV slotted between the Sonet and Seltos and the new-gen Carnival MPV.
