Kia Carens sales surpassed 200,000-unit in just 36 months since launch, making it the fastest vehicle in its segment to cross this milestone.
As per Kia, petrol variants of the Carens contributed to 58% of its total sales compared to the diesel which held the remaining 42% share.
The Kia Carens automatic and iMT variants contributed to 32% of its total sales, reinforcing the manual transmission presence in the MPV space with the remaining market share.
Interestingly, Carens variants equipped with the sunroof accounted for 28% of the total sales. It’s worth mentioning that the Carens comes with a small single-pane sunroof. Will a panoramic sunroof increase this share? We shall know about that soon with the facelift.
Given the positioning of the Carens, it’s natural to think that the 7-seater variants will lead but leading with a 95% marker share is a big margin to consider, leaving the 6-seater variants to play in the 5% share.
Out of the 2,00,000 units of the Carens that Kia dispatched over the past 3 years, 24,064 units of the MPV were exported to 70 global markets.
